Change your mind.

I could never be a preacher. You know, you're scheduled to preach on Sunday, and you just had a really terrible week and have almost no faith, you're really wondering if God really even exists at all, and you're supposed to get up there and tell them how great everything is and how God's doing such wonderful things in your life. No, I'd never make it as a preacher. I'd get up there and be honest and the people in the congregation would start throwing things at me. Me, I need to be free to change my mind.
I'm not alone. And I think allowing yourself to change your mind shows courage, not weakness. All the nonsense in the political realm with politicians grandstandingly accusing other politicians of "flip-flopping." (Why, Candidate Jones signed on to a policy statement 50 years ago endorsing the opposite position!) Ridiculous. When I hear somebody's labeled as a "fllip-flopper" I'm like, he's probably a good candidate. He's not as afraid as the rest of the others.
     Listen to Ralph Waldo Emerson:

I hate preaching... Preaching is a pledge, and I wish to say what I think and feel today, with the proviso that tomorrow perhaps I shall contradict it all. Freedom boundless I wish.

And think about it, what do we know about the world for certain— that everything continually changes. So to evaluate the world and not see it any differently as it changes is silly.
Life's a blip. It's hard. Don't put undue restraint on yourself. Think what you want. Change your mind if you want. Be who you are today and if you're different tomorrow you're different tomorrow. "Freedom boundless"— live there yourself.
